Studies and career:
Dr. Sven Hausen completed his studies in human medicine at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 2006. He then worked as an assistant physician in the Department of Cardiology and Angiology at the Helios Klinikum Siegburg. In 2007, he was awarded his doctorate in human medicine. This was followed by positions at Elisabeth Hospital in Essen and a move to the Department of Cardiology/Angiology at the University Hospital Bonn in 2011.

Dr. Sven Hausen began his specialist training as an interventional cardiologist and angiologist at Helios Klinikum Siegburg in 2012 and, in addition to the additional qualifications “Interventional Cardiology (DGK)” and “Interventional Therapy of Arterial Vascular Diseases (DGK)”, he became a specialist in internal medicine/cardiology in 2013. In 2015, he was appointed senior physician. In cooperation with Helios Klinikum Krefeld, he completed his specialist training as an angiologist, successfully qualifying as a specialist in internal medicine/angiology in 2016.
What makes his dual medical qualifications in cardiology and angiology so special is that he offers comprehensive cardiovascular and vascular diagnostics from a single source. Conservative therapy for existing diseases of the heart and/or vascular system and preventive diagnostics for the early detection of diseases of the cardiovascular system are essential components of Dr. Sven Hausen’s work.
In addition, he uses complementary examination and treatment options, such as minimally invasive procedures via the wrist artery (“radial access”). These are particularly low-risk and virtually painless.
